Our Home is on the Market

We are both happy and sad to say our house is on the market.  We have such wonderful memories here and met so many great people.  We truly appreciate each of our guests for making our job fun.  And we are looking forward to the next chapter, moving closer to more family.

In the summer of 2016, we updated the kitchen.  Remodeling is always both rewarding and challenging.  But I think we made an improvement.

Mighty Oak

On July 30, a strange weather phenomenon occurred here in Norwich, likely a micro burst.  Unfortunately, the beautiful and majestic Oak that had graced the property for well over 200 years was a victim.  She lost a major limb.

Our Arborist checked her out and shared that any time a tree loses 1/3 of their limbs, the tree is compromised.  We agreed to try to save her.  We added supports for the remaining limbs protecting her the best that we could.

We expanded the veranda because she provided such amazing shade and shelter from the Summer sun.  She has given all who have lived and visited joy and comfort.  Today, we have to protect her.

We are so fortunate that we were able to trim the limb and secure the others.  She is still standing today and hopefully, for another 200+ years.

Columbus Foundation brings Niña and Pinta to Norwich's Marina at American Wharf

The Columbus Foundation and two Columbus replica ships, the most historically accurate replica Niña and the recently-built Pinta visited the Norwich Marina at American Wharf May 29 through June 3.

You know this sound!  It's the sound of peepers!!!  Well, with a random motorcycle and an 18-wheeler in the background.  But the best sound comes from what sounds like two peepers...they must be the ones that check out the conditions.  I think the pond is ready!  I know that I am.  I LOVE this sound!  Yay, Spring :)

Approximately five weeks after 31 and Sunny, it's now up to a balmy 34 and Sunny!  And you can hardly see the stubborn tiny shady patch of snow that just won't melt.
